"travelin man", the handle on this KS limestone is an actual D&RG handle. The D&RG,Denver and Rio Grande railroad, is now a defunct railroad. The railroad started as a narrow gauge line running south from Denver, Colorado in 1870. At its height, around 1890, the D&RG had the largest operating narrow gauge railroad network in North America. The D&RG operated the highest main line rail in the US over the Tennessee Pass, the famed routes of the Moffet tunnel, and the Royal Gorge all in Colorado.
We had this sitting on a post and the shadows that it cast were like of a woman's figure. So elegant and very amazing to see those shadows.
